Coaches need a handy place to keep their paperwork and we love clipboards that also give you a place to draw out your strategies at the moment, during a timeout.
Beware – before you shop online
As you shop online, beware of cheap “dry-erase” clipboards that are actually a plastic page protector with a piece of paper displaying the court on the inside!
Another common complaint is that some clipboards may look good in the image, but are actually made of cheap and flimsy plastic.
Murray Dry Erase Volleyball Clipboard
This clipboard from Murray is simple, solid, and durable. It’s made from pressed particle board and has a sturdy clip. The clip is strong enough to hold your dry-erase marker, or you can use it to hold paperwork and keep your marker in your pocket.
While you may usually use the top side to draw on the full court, it’s handy to have the half-court option on the back. It has an easy wipe-off surface that will last you many seasons.
Dexas Clearview Clipcase Dry Erase Clipboard
This Dexas clipboard is not volleyball-specific but works well for many uses. There are 2 separate compartments, the top giving you a place to insert a volleyball court layout (or others if you coach multiple sports), while the bottom gives you plenty of room for other things – a good place to keep your lineup and multiple dry-erase markers.
The compartments are both held by strong latches and the clipboard itself is very sturdy, with only mild flex. These were designed for working professionals to use outdoors, so they’re built to take a fall.
